Nari Gunjan is a beacon of hope and empowerment for the most deprived Musahar community at the grassroots level. Founded in 1987, our organisation is dedicated to the upliftment of the poorest of the poor, landless, and rural women who have historically faced economic deprivation, social discrimination, political neglect, and cultural invisibility. We stand as a testament to the strength and belief of these women, who, with our support, have transformed their lives. Our mission is to create a society where every individual, regardless of their gender, religion, caste, or language, is treated with dignity and enjoys equal rights. Our Mission
To come in contact with the deprived sections of the society – Dalits, women, and children and to conscientise them so they become aware of their dignity as human beings, enjoying equal rights- economic, social, cultural, and political. To uphold education as the basis for change and development and to make it possible for children, women, especially girls. To create awareness about health, preventive, curative, primitive and to become familiar with herbal and home remedies; promoting reproductive health, especially among Dalits and economically weaker sections of society. To identify and fight against violence and any kind of discrimination against women. To assist women in becoming economically independent and self-confident. Promote leadership qualities among women and to encourage potential leaders to bargain for decision-making positions.
